We Asked 100 Arabic IPTV Viewers What They Actually Watch. Here Is What We Learned.
Arabic content on IPTV is one of the most searched categories out there, but it is also one of the most inconsistently served. Premium sports networks, leading entertainment channels, major news broadcasters, and dozens of regional channels from across the Gulf, the Levant, and North Africa all need to be covered properly, and most providers either miss key channels entirely or the streams fall apart the moment a big match kicks off.
We reached out to one hundred Arabic speaking IPTV viewers across different regions to find out what they actually watch, what frustrates them most about their current provider, and which services genuinely deliver a complete Arabic channel lineup without constant buffering.
What the Survey Told Us
The results made one thing very clear. Sports coverage matters more than anything else in this audience. Seventy one people said premium Arabic sports coverage was the single most important factor for them, and nearly half said they had switched providers at least once after missing a major match due to buffering or a channel simply not loading.
Major entertainment networks came up almost as often, followed closely by leading news broadcasters and dedicated movie and series channels. A smaller but consistent group specifically mentioned wanting Egyptian, Saudi, and Moroccan regional channels that most international IPTV providers simply do not carry.
Only nineteen people out of the hundred said their current provider covered everything they wanted without any gaps. When we asked which services those nineteen were using, three names came up repeatedly.
What Arabic Viewers Actually Stream Beyond Live TV?
Live channels only tell part of the story. When we asked respondents about their on demand viewing habits, a clear pattern emerged. Egyptian cinema remains the single most requested category, with a steady demand for both classic and recently released titles. Turkish dubbed dramas came up almost as frequently, reflecting just how large that audience has grown across the Arabic speaking world over the past decade.
Gulf productions and locally made series also showed strong demand, particularly among viewers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE who wanted content that reflected their own culture and dialect rather than relying entirely on Egyptian or Levantine programming. A smaller but growing group mentioned an interest in Korean dramas with Arabic subtitles or dubbing, a trend that has been picking up steam across the region more broadly.
What stood out most was not any single title or genre, but how much viewers cared about library depth and how often it was refreshed. Several respondents specifically said they had left a previous provider after noticing the same handful of titles sitting untouched for months, while others praised services that regularly rotated in new releases across every category.

Not every Arabic speaking viewer wants the same thing, and our survey made that clear once we broke down responses by region. This regional variation is exactly why channel depth matters so much more for Arabic IPTV than it does for many other language categories. A provider that only covers the most popular pan-Arab networks will satisfy a portion of viewers, but the ones who scored highest in our survey were the services that also carried the regional and dialect specific channels that get overlooked elsewhere.

We spent close to three weeks running each of these three services specifically for Arabic content, checking channel availability against the categories our survey respondents cared about most, testing stream stability during live sports broadcasts, and going through the VOD libraries to see how deep the Arabic movie and series selection actually goes.

Nigma TV came in third, and it is worth saying upfront that it still covers the essentials well. Major sports coverage, entertainment networks, and news broadcasting all worked reliably during testing, and general stream quality held up fine for day to day viewing.
Where it fell slightly behind was regional depth. Saudi and Moroccan channels were present but more limited than what we saw elsewhere, and the Arabic VOD library, while solid, did not match the sheer volume available through the other two services. Occasional buffering during the busiest sports windows also pulled it down slightly in our notes.

2. Smartiflix
Smartiflix landed at second thanks to a genuinely complete Arabic lineup and strong performance during live sports specifically. Every major sports channel worked without issue throughout our testing period, including during high traffic weekend matches.
Regional coverage was noticeably stronger here, with Egyptian, Saudi, Lebanese, and Moroccan channels all present and stable. The Arabic VOD library is large, covering everything from recent Egyptian cinema releases to long running Turkish dubbed series that are popular across the region.
The only reason it did not take the top spot came down to a handful of Iraqi channels that loaded inconsistently during our testing, a gap the top provider did not have.

1. Digitaline IPTV
Digitaline IPTV took first place, and it was the only service where we could not find a single gap across everything our survey respondents mentioned.
